Lawrence
Terry, Jr.
Lawrence (“Monk”) Terry, Jr., has wide-ranging experience
in sports, education, finance, insurance, import-export, and general
business. His principal areas of interest are sports management,
strategic and financial planning, the Internet, and organizational
design. Lawrence Terry has served as President of Coconut Grove
Insurance, Inc. (a marine and professional insurance agency), President
of Riverdale Farms, Inc. (a flower importing company), Chairman
of ETI, Inc. (an electrical component manufacturing company), Director
of External Affairs for Palmer Trinity School, Marina Development
Manager for the City of Miami, Comptroller for The Network (an educational
consulting company in Andover, Massachusetts), Assistant to the
Treasurer of the State of Virginia, Associate Director of The Boston
Foundation, and Director of Admissions for Middlesex School. He
was an Ensign in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Yokohama, Japan.
An
Olympic Silver Medalist in rowing, Lawrence Terry was on the United
States Olympic Teams in Mexico in 1968 and Germany in 1972. He is
currently a member of the United States Olympic Committee and Chair
of the US Rowing Association’s Board of Trustees. He serves
as Vice President of the Miami Bach Society, Advisory Board member
of Shake-a-Leg, and board member of the Miami Marine Council, the
Miami Rowing Club, Friends of Harvard Rowing, and 1000 Friends of
Florida. He has previously served on the boards of the Association
of Floral Importers, the Political Action Association for Floral
Importers, St. Stephen’s School, St. Stephen’s Church,
Trinity School, and Brooks School (Concord, Massachusetts).
Lawrence
Terry has a Master of Business Administration degree from the Colgate
Darden Business School at the University of Virginia and an A.B.
degree from Harvard University.
